You probably make hundreds of decisions every day, which can be exhausting, frustrating and time-consuming if you don’t have systems and methods in place to ease the process. Every email and call that comes in, every interruption or distraction that you face requires a decision from you on how to handle it. When you feel swamped and overwhelmed by the onslaught of emails, interruptions, distractions and an unending to-do list, your ability to make the right decisions quickly will be impeded.
- Create a process for how you are going to handle each of these elements.
- Follow David Allen’s guide for processing email, which I teach in my tele-class:
- Delete it
- Delegate it
- Defer it Do it now!
If you are struggling, stop and move to something else; go back to the issue in an hour, the next morning, in the evening, whenever you’ll have a fresh look at it and when you are not tired.
