“The greatest wealth is health.”
What Do You Do If You Are Not Feeling Well?
DO: First accept you are not feeling well and that you cannot perform at 100%.
DO: Rest as much as you can, if your schedule allows it.
DON’T: Worry about keeping standard hours; if you can work from home, work during any part of the day that works for you.
DO: Reschedule meetings if they are within your control and communicate with clients and others if deadlines will be missed.
DO: Bring a colleague or an assistant with you if must attend a meeting or make a court appearance to help you since your ability to focus and concentrate will be compromised.
RESULT: It serves no purpose to think you can work completely effectively and productively when your head is stuffed with cotton or you are in pain. Rearrange your schedule and workload to meet your needs. Sleep three hours in the afternoon and work one hour in the evening rather than fight your body that is screaming it’s “sick and tired.” Life happens. We manage the best we can, and move forward when we are able. The world really won’t fall apart, but you may if you don’t take care of yourself.
Your time is precious. Manage it wisely.(SM)
